Psychiatric Technician

The Psychiatric Technician provides direct care and clinical services to in-patient psychiatric patients, supporting their daily living activities, social and psychiatric rehabilitation under RN supervision. The role requires effective communication with patients to ensure access to required services and timely reporting of patient changes. Participation in rounds and group therapy sessions is also expected. A minimum of 2 years of recent experience, BLS certification, and an associate's degree in psychology or sociology are required. Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and clinical services to psychiatric in-patients on an individual basis.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and social/psychiatric rehabilitation as directed by the RN.
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure they have access to required services.
• Inform the RN promptly of any changes in patient condition or behavior.
• Participate in patient rounds and group therapy sessions as needed.

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a psychiatric technician or similar role.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Associate's degree in Psychology or Sociology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with trauma center protocols and psychiatric emergency procedures.

• Rotating shifts including day, evening, and night shifts.
• Work includes holidays, weekends, on-call duties, and potential call-back per unit needs.
• Assignment limited to 48 hours per week.

• On-call and call-back responsibilities as required by the unit.
