Field Service Technician

Automation Personnel Services has an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Technician to join a team based in Charlotte. This position calls for travel all around the country working on site and in person with customers. This is a great opportunity for somebody who has a background repairing and installing machinery.

Pay Rate
$25+ depending on experience

Schedule and Hours
8:00am to 5:00pm

Monday – Friday

Field Service Technician Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs new equipment at customer’s facility and ensures full functionality according to specifications.
• Inspect malfunctioning or damaged product/equipment to determine the source of the problem and corrective actions to take.
• Coordinate repairs with engineering, customer service, and other personnel.
• Onsite technical troubleshooting and repairs
• Maintains record of performance reports
• Develop service handbooks and bulletins based on field investigations, engineering changes, and overall product knowledge
• Provides a communication link between the customer and the client
• Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including team members and customers.
• While in office: provide phone support to customers calling the Customer Service hotline, logs calls, and collects data.

Field Service Technicians Qualifications and Requirements

• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or GED req – Bachelor’s preferred
• Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment
• Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Attentive to details and mindset of continuous improvement
• Self starter decision maker, problem solver, and analyst
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Customer oriented
• 75% of the time travelling

Job Type
Full-time, temporary to permanent.
