Lab Technician

MAIN FUNCTION Work safely in the laboratory andinassigned areas at all times. Provide timely, efficient and proficient evaluations of carbon black. Assures laboratory test equipment is properly maintained and within calibration. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Functional Responsibilities: Perform specified analytical and physical tests on finished product and in-process carbon black at the predetermined intervals. Prepare samples of in-process material and shipment material for evaluation. Acquire a knowledge ofand properly utilizethe retain systemas it applies to shipmentsandfinished product. Acquire knowledge of sampling the various modes of product packaging and transport. Acquire knowledge ofand properly utilizeExcel and Microsoft Dynamics AX applications Calibrate and maintain lab equipment, and record all calibrations into the electronic record system at the predetermined intervals. Demonstrated proficiency inall test procedures. Demonstrated proficiency inISO procedures and work instructions. Helpto maintain a positive work environment through proper housekeeping. Acquires knowledge of and adheres to all safety practices and principles. CHARACTERISTICS Must be able to work individuallyandas a team member. Must be able toperformmultiple tasks. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be open to working rotating shifts, weekends & holidays. (Where applicable.) Must maintain good attendance record due to the 24/7 operation of the plant. (Where applicable.) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma are GED required. College degree in science or two years of lab experience preferred.
