Application Engineer - Power Platform Developer

Responsible for the deployment, provisioning, hardening, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and related cloud services. Utilizes scripting and infrastructure technologies for environment orchestration. Collaborates with cross functional teams for the deployment and ongoing support of cloud services to both internal stakeholders and clients. Ensures mission‑critical federal applications are prepared to handle increased demand, peak usage periods, and high‑volume operational workloads. Responsible for forecasting capacity needs, conducting performance analysis, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing strategies that improve application scalability, stability, and responsiveness. Works closely with cloud, infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure systems remain resilient, available, and performant during surge scenarios. Reviews operational requirements with project teams, management and client services groups for deployment and ongoing support. Develops documentation for best practices as it relates to server infrastructure and cloud computing operational experience. Assist with identifying and planning of potential new cloud services, features, and capabilities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience Minimum of 5-7 years in relevant field Other Job Specific Skills Experience conducting load, stress, and performance testing for enterprise applications. Ability to analyze system performance, traffic patterns, and resource utilization across application, database, and infrastructure layers. Understanding of scaling approaches including autoscaling, caching, queuing, and connection management. Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging systems, and performance dashboards. Understanding of federal operational requirements such as uptime expectations, continuity planning, and controlled change windows. Specific Skills Experience supporting scalability efforts for public‑facing or high‑traffic federal systems. Knowledge of cloud‑native scaling capabilities (AWS, Azure, or GovCloud equivalents). Background in optimizing application architectures for high availability and low latency. Ability to design and run performance simulations for surge scenarios. Compensation Ranges Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role.
