Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist

MLR is partnering with a local hospital just outside of Columbia, SC, to recruit a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) for a full-time weekday position. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential diagnostic testing, ensuring high-quality patient care in a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shift: Full-time, weekdays.
• Perform venipuncture for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate specimen collection.
• Conduct diagnostic testing in various departments, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control, documenting corrective actions, and making decisions on patient results.
• Participate in competency testing, professional development, and in-service training sessions.
• Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and relevant computer applications to manage patient data.

Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist Requirements:

• Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent) or eligible for certification within six months.
• Proficiency in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting test results.
