Saturday Overnight Direct Support Professional

Saturday 9:00 PM – Sunday 9:00 AM
$25/hour

We are looking for a reliable, caring, and respectful Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a cheerful and outgoing person who lives independently with a cat at Rebecca’s Homestead .

The person supported enjoys being active in the community and communicating with others. Communication is primarily through a communication board, so the ability to communicate is essential.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building a genuine relationship with the person they support while helping maintain independence, make choices, and participate in everyday life.

Responsibilities

The DSP will provide individualized support with:

• Personal care, including bathing, toileting, hygiene, and getting in and out of bed

• Medication administration through a G-tube

• Preparing breakfast and meals

• Household tasks, including laundry and light housekeeping

• Caring for the household cat

• Supporting community activities and outings, including wheelchair assistance

• Providing companionship and encouragement while respecting personal choices, routines, and independence

• Dependable and able to commit to the Saturday overnight schedule

• Caring, patient, and respectful

• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care

• Able to read and understand a communication board

• Comfortable assisting a person who uses a wheelchair

• Willing to learn individualized routines and support needs

• Respectful of the person's home, privacy, choices, and independence

• Comfortable around cats
