Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role requires the ability to manage and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in a fast-paced medical environment.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Day 3x12-Hour
• Shift Hours: 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Call Requirement: Must be able to report to PACU within 30 minutes when on call.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain management post-anesthesia.
• Administer and titrate medications, including pain management and anesthesia reversal agents.
• Recognize and respond to airway complications effectively.
• Start and manage IV lines, including administration of fluids and medications.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide care for patients following various major surgeries, including but not limited to general, vascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgeries.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Licensure: California license required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
• Experience: 2-3 years of PACU/Critical Care experience (adults and pediatrics) preferred.
• Pre-operative experience is advantageous.
• Proficiency in critical care skills, including vital signs monitoring and pain management.

Skills Required

• Ability to manage various patient conditions post-surgery.
• Competency in medication reconciliation and emergency medications.
• Effective communication skills for interpreting and conveying lab values.
• Skills in airway assessment and managing ventilated patients.
• Experience with IV vasopressors and administration of narcotics/opioid analgesics.

Additional Information

The facility maintains a strict dress code; candidates must adhere to outlined grooming standards. All tattoos must be covered, and visible body piercings should be limited to earrings only.
