F&B Outlet Assistant Shift Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise an F&B Outlet, managing the overall daily operation for a designated shift. Support scheduling, coordinate with manager on scheduling concerns, and ensure guest satisfaction. Assist in the budget process, recommend actions, ensure compliance, and report concerns to manager. Promote and demonstrate superior customer service, enforce service standards, and address customer issues. Apply gaming laws and regulations to F&B operations. Maintain procedures for food service and inspect menu items for customer satisfaction. Assist the Outlet Assistant Manager with sanitary and pleasant service for all guests. Monitor cost control methods, consistent pars, inventory on the shift. Assist with administrative duties as assigned. Ensure regulatory compliance and report potential issues to management. Maintain strict confidentiality of departmental and company matters. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop staff training programs and provide coaching. Manage rewards and recognition to maximize employee engagement. Evaluate team members, deliver constructive feedback on performance. Recommend staffing, interviewing, hiring, and scheduling to meet business needs. Manage work procedures and expedite workflow. Provide disciplinary or performance coaching as needed. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience. Minimum two years of supervisory experience and two years of food and beverage experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to write reports, do basic math, compute rates, and interpret graphics. Flexible to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to present information to managers, clients, customers, and groups. LANGUAGE SKILLS Read, interpret, and communicate in English. REASONING ABILITY Apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram instruction and to solve problems in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS ServSafe Alcohol certification course. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand, use hands, reach, lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Moderate noise level; may be exposed to second‑hand smoke. Typical casino gaming environment with variable work areas.
