Senior Analyst, Business Systems
AbbVie
Senior Business Systems Analyst supporting omics research at a pharmaceutical company. Role bridges Discovery stakeholders, scientists, and technology teams to enable genomic and molecular research workflows, data management, and integration capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Discovery stakeholders and IT to understand strategic objectives, operational needs, and improvement opportunities
- Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements; translate into user stories and acceptance criteria
- Manage omics-focused systems to ensure optimization, compliance, and stakeholder alignment
- Engage with vendors on system enhancements and troubleshooting; facilitate external partnerships
- Exercise independent judgment evaluating problems and recommending solutions balancing scientific, business, and technical considerations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, or related life science field; OR information systems/computer science with life science research experience
- 4+ years business systems analysis, consulting, product ownership, or technology delivery experience
- Foundational knowledge of omics workflows and data concepts (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics)
- Experience eliciting, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements
- Ability to facilitate stakeholder discussions and translate scientific needs into technology solutions
- Understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile practices, and enterprise software delivery
- Working knowledge of LLMs, generative AI, and traditional AI/ML applications
