Deputy Tax Assessor - Pennsauken Township Under the direction of the Tax Assessor, the Deputy Tax Assessor assists in the administration and daily operations of the Tax Assessor's Office and performs technical, analytical, and administrative duties related to the equitable assessment of taxable property within the Township, interacting with residents, business representatives, real estate professionals, and governmental agencies. Responsibilities conduct residential, commercial, and industrial property appraisals review architectural and engineering plans related to property valuation maintain property records, tax maps, and assessment databases process applications for tax deductions, exemptions, and abatements assist with assessment appeals at the County and State levels respond to inquiries regarding assessments and tax laws prepare reports and related documentation Qualifications valid Certified Tax Assessor (CTA) certification valid New Jersey driver's license bachelor's degree preferred; relevant appraisal or property tax assessment experience may be considered in lieu of education on a year‑for‑year basis knowledge of property appraisal principles and mass appraisal techniques applicable New Jersey property tax laws and regulations proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAMA systems, and MOD IV preferred strong organizational, mathematical, written, verbal, and customer service skills essential Employment Details This is a full‑time position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Salary range is $65,000.00 – $85,000.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
