Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Senior Tax Preparer to join our Maryville team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses while providing excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file individual, business, and/or corporate tax returns.
• Review financial records such as income statements, receipts, and prior-year filings.
• Ensure compliance with IRS, state, and local tax laws and deadlines.
• Identify applicable deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities.
• Verify accuracy of tax calculations and supporting documentation.
• Communicate with clients to gather information and explain outcomes.
• Address client questions related to tax filings, payments, or notices.
• Maintain client confidentiality and secure financial data.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with amended returns, extensions, or audits as needed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of tax preparation experience (required)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software.
• Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information

Schedule

Part-time or full-time schedule (20-40+ hours/week) during January-April tax season. Approximately 10-15 hours/week from May-December, depending on office volume.
