Physician/Family Medicine

Empower U Community Health Center is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused, and highly qualified Physician/Family Medicine to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan. The physician will diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, promote preventative healthcare, coordinate patient care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to support organizational initiatives related to quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and infection prevention.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing comprehensive primary care services, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, maintaining accurate medical records, educating patients and families, collaborating with healthcare professionals, participating in quality improvement initiatives, supporting compliance with regulatory requirements, assisting with clinical protocols, supporting infection prevention activities, participating in meetings and reviews, maintaining productivity and documentation standards, serving as a clinical resource, and performing other duties as assigned.

Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

Licensure and Certifications: Active Florida Medical License in good standing. Current DEA Registration. Current BLS Certification. Current CPR Certification. HIV Certification through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) preferred. Candidates without HIV Certification must be willing and able to obtain certification within a specified period following hire.

Experience: Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience preferred. Experience working within a Community Health Center, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or similar ambulatory care setting preferred. Experience caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS preferred. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems required. Leadership, supervisory, or medical management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of evidence-based medical practices and standards of care. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices. Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards. Ability to provide culturally competent and patient-centered care. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
