Job Overview West Houston / Katy Area $28-$34/hr. DOE Contract Opportunity (2-4 Weeks+ Potential Extension) Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Our client is seeking an experienced Building Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial office properties in West Houston. This role is ideal for a hands‑on facilities professional with strong HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building automation experience. Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems Respond to tenant service requests and work orders Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and ensure code compliance Coordinate and supervise outside vendors and contractors Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance Assist with repairs, lighting, temperature controls, plumbing issues, ceiling tiles, doors, locks, and general building upkeep Maintain inventory, equipment records, and utility tracking Support multiple office buildings throughout the West Houston/Katy area Qualifications 10+ years of commercial building maintenance or engineering experience preferred Experience with commercial property management environments required, Class B Buildings Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, RTUs, building automation systems (BAS), electrical, and plumbing systems Experience with chillers, chilled water systems, and pneumatic controls is a plus Strong customer service, communication, and problem‑solving skills Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties Additional Information Portfolio consists of 9 office buildings, primarily located in West Houston/Katy Occasional on-call or after‑hours support may be required Interview process includes a Teams interview with management Apply today if you're a skilled Building Engineer looking for an immediate opportunity with a well‑established commercial property portfolio. #J-18808-Ljbffr Burnett Staffing Specialists
