Registered Nurse

Float Pool Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse for night shifts. Must have cardiac experience. First-time travelers are welcome. Traveler may work in two different units in a 12-hour shift based on need. Every other weekend coverage is required. The documentation system is Cerner. Patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, and observation units. Float pool is based out of a designated facility. The float pool consists of nurses, PCA's, and OAs. Staff is placed based on the needs of units during bed meetings. The Avasure system is used to monitor up to 12 patients simultaneously. The person monitoring in the Avasure office needs to be relieved for breaks and meals. Travelers may be canceled up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Cancellations must match the regular shift length and cannot be broken down into smaller increments. The client is financially responsible for guaranteed hours in case of cancellations or closures. Call hours do not count toward the guaranteed minimum hours. The candidate should have experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips without titration. Experience with telemetry and insulin drip titration is preferred. Unit staffing ratios are 1:5 during both days and nights. Weekend coverage is also required. Cerner experience is preferred but not mandatory. Background evaluation will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Return staff must wait a one-year period before reapplying.
