The primary responsibility of the Hornet Power Club Coach is to develop workouts for athletes to improve speed and sports performance. These exercises help them become quicker, better, and faster athletes in their sports. It all starts with an initial assessment of their athleticism and capabilities. Qualifications: ISBE teaching certificate or ASEP certification IHSA concussion and PED test completed CPR/AED Certified Valid Driver’s License Evaluation: The supervisor shall annually evaluate the team leader. Such evaluation shall be reviewed with the team leader and made part of his/her permanent record. Reports to: Director of Athletics and Activities Terms of Employment: This is a 9-month stipend position. Depending on the review of school needs and the evaluation process, the term may be extended annually. Stipend Amount: $1243.66 FLSA Exempt Duties and Responsibilities: Follow district policies and procedures. Organize meetings for prospective club members and encourage participation. Assess athletes' strengths and weaknesses to tailor coaching. Create and implement workout schedules for individual and team development. Coordinate facility scheduling with the athletic director. Instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques to improve performance. Develop strategies based on team capabilities. Enforce conduct standards and supervise athletes at all times. Track academic performance to ensure eligibility. Encourage high academic standards among athletes. Implement procedures for handling injuries. Maintain open communication with parents/guardians. Comply with athletic program regulations at all levels. Model sportsmanship and appropriate behavior for athletes. Represent the club by engaging with media and community organizations. Oversee the care and maintenance of equipment. Maintain records, including eligibility forms and equipment inventory.
