Legal Assistant

Stimpson & Associates P.C. is a well-established general practice law firm serving clients throughout Lenawee and Washtenaw Counties. Our team is dedicated to providing thoughtful legal guidance while maintaining a professional, collaborative work environment. We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant / Receptionist who is organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to support our attorneys and legal staff. Position Overview This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of our firm. The Legal Assistant / Receptionist will assist attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, preparing legal filings, document organization, and general office assistance. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, communicates clearly in writing, and is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced legal setting. Key Responsibilities: Assist attorneys and paralegals with legal documents and legal filings Help prepare case files and supporting materials for court and trial work Organize and maintain case files and legal documentation Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and team members Assist with administrative and reception duties, including answering phones and scheduling Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals on ongoing casework Support general office operations and ensure files and materials are properly organized Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant work experience in a legal or professional office setting Strong writing, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and problem-solve Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills Experience in a legal office or familiarity with legal procedures is a plus This position is in-person at our Tecumseh office and involves daily collaboration with attorneys and paralegals.
