Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Compass Government Solutions is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Laborist Physician to provide inpatient obstetric and gynecologic services in the Labor and Delivery Unit at Madigan Army Medical Center. This is an onsite, 1099 independent contractor opportunity supporting eligible military healthcare beneficiaries.
The OB/GYN Laborist will manage labor and delivery, provide emergency obstetric care, perform routine and Cesarean deliveries, and support the education of residents and other healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients requiring obstetric and gynecologic care.
• Manage labor from initial evaluation and admission through delivery and postpartum care.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, labor progression, and the need for intervention or consultation.
• Perform vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and emergency obstetric procedures.
• Evaluate and manage obstetric complications and initiate emergency life-saving procedures.
• Provide immediate newborn assessment, care, and resuscitation as needed.
• Perform common gynecologic procedures, including biopsies, dilation and curettage, cervical polyp removal, and incision and drainage of perineal or vulvar abscesses.
• Provide contraceptive screening, counseling, and prescribing.
• Complete histories, physical examinations, preoperative assessments, treatment documentation, discharge counseling, and follow-up planning.
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to physicians, residents, medical students, nursing students, and other healthcare personnel.
• Use electronic healthcare systems for documentation, order entry, results review, communication, and encounter reporting.
• Remain on duty beyond the scheduled shift when necessary to complete a delivery or respond to an emergency.

The role includes responsibility for inpatient labor management, vaginal and Cesarean delivery, emergency procedures, newborn care, postpartum management, documentation, and clinical teaching.
Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from:
  • An LCME-accredited medical school;
  • An AOA-approved college of osteopathic medicine; or
  • A foreign medical school with ECFMG certification.
• Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency.
• Board certified or board eligible through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• At least one year of active, post-residency OB/GYN practice experience within the previous two years.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted physician license in Washington State.
• All additional professional licenses held must be in good standing.
• Current certifications in:
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Current DEA registration.
• Current 10-digit National Provider Identifier.
• Ability to successfully complete all credentialing, privileging, background investigation, facility-access, and Common Access Card requirements.
• Ability to obtain or maintain required professional liability coverage of $1 million per incident and $3 million aggregate.

Working Hours
Madigan Army Medical Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. OB/GYN Laborist shifts will generally:

• Be approximately 11 to 14 hours
• Include AM or PM assignments several days per week
• Include weekends and federal holidays
• Require remaining beyond the scheduled shift when necessary for continuity of care or an obstetric emergency

There are no regularly scheduled on-call requirements for this position.
