Registered Dental HygienistMebane - Mebane, NC 27302OverviewLevel: Experienced Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: Day Category: ClinicalDescriptionA Dental Hygienist for Riccobene Associates works together with our dentists to meet the oral health needs of our patients.A Dental Hygienist is responsible for promoting dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screenings, periodontal maintenance, charting dental solutions, willingness to assist with a variety of responsibilities in the dental office, and performing in compliance with Commonwealth Dentistry's highest standard of care.Key CompetenciesAssess dental condition and needs of patient using patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and perio chartingDelivers direct patient care using established dental hygienist proceduresTakes patient vital signsPerforms routine treatment procedures, such as cleaning and polishingTakes radiographs required for diagnosis of treatment needs by the dentistApplies sealants and fluoridesElectronic record keepingDocuments patient dental history and chief complaintRecords and reports pertinent observationsTeaches patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease through proper diet and oral homecareCleans and sterilizes instrumentsCompletes Treatment Plan as prescribed by the dentistReviews and explains treatment plan and associates fees with patientAbility to articulate and express patients concerns to dentistPrimary treatment coordinatorAncillary duties as neededQualificationsTo successfully perform the job responsibilities for the position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
