Work Environment
This position operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment across multiple operational buildings, providing consistent and comfortable working conditions. Each production cell follows a similar process flow, with variation based on specific parts and components being produced or repaired. You will regularly interact with all members of your production cell and collaborate with team members from other groups, including Quality and Engineering. The environment is production-driven, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety due to the nature and value of the components being machined. The shop is very clean, ergonomic, and organized, supporting safe and efficient work practices throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate and repair metallic and non-metallic parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining, tooling, and set-up requirements.
- Perform complete machine set-ups, including installing and aligning fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories required for each job.
- Prepare and maintain set-up documentation to ensure consistent and repeatable machining processes.
- Perform basic and routine maintenance on machines as part of the set-up and operation process to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Use precision measuring devices, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify dimensions and ensure all parts meet specified tolerances.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as needed to maintain product quality and process efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with team members within the production cell and with cross-functional groups such as Quality and Engineering to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Follow established process flows within the assigned cell while adapting to different parts and components as needed.
- Adhere to all safety and quality procedures, ensuring that quality and safety remain the highest priorities during all machining activities.
- Participate in training on first shift to learn processes, equipment, and safety practices before moving into regular production duties.
- At least 1 year of machining experience or training, including setting up fixtures, tools, attachments, and accessories.
- Demonstrated experience or training in reading blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining and set-up requirements.
- Ability to set up and operate machine tools, including conventional and CNC equipment, in a production environment.
- Proficiency using precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to train on first shift and follow established process flows and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and adherence to specifications.
- Commitment to working safely in a production environment where quality and safety are top priorities.
- Technical trade school degree in machining is preferred.
- Experience with FANUC controllers is strongly preferred.
- Experience setting up and operating horizontal and/or vertical milling machines.
- Comfort working in a team-oriented, production-driven environment while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members in the production cell and with cross-functional groups such as Quality and Engineering.
