Emergency Room Forensic Nurse

Hourly Pay Range $36.00 - $55.80 per hour. Pay determined by expertise, experience, and other factors. Position RN SANE Adult Per Diem. Responsibilities Provide high quality, cost-effective care to patients with complaints of sexual assault. Complete medical‑forensic examinations and evidence collection per Illinois and hospital guidelines. Conduct physical assessment and forensic exam of sexual assault patients. Obtain evidence via Illinois State Police Evidence Collection Kit with required consents. Provide opportunity for forensic photography in accordance with guidelines. Identify and facilitate care for injuries requiring medical treatment. Document assessment, evidence collection, and intervention. Ensure patient privacy, confidentiality, and rights. Educate patients on exam, procedures, treatment, STD prevention, pregnancy prevention, and follow‑up care. Participate in education of sexual assault nurse examiners, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and the community. Provide legal testimony on SANE cases when subpoenaed or requested. Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing. Minimum one year of experience as a SANE RN. Prior experience in Emergency Medicine or women's health preferred. Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Completed International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) accredited SANE A course for adults, including required State of Illinois clinical component.
