KLB Construction  is a civil construction company that is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of diesel equipment in the field. You will travel to various job sites to make electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, dozers, tractors, and more. Applicants should have experience with diesel heavy equipment repair so they can determine what parts and tools are necessary for repairs. You must be able to use a tablet to run diagnostic tests and enter job information, and you need a valid driver's license to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Conduct brake repairs, tire services, and HVAC system maintenance.
• Operate heavy equipment safely while performing repairs or diagnostics.
• Align components and ensure proper functioning of hydraulic systems.
• Utilize hand tools effectively for various repair tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in diesel engine repair and automotive repair.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
• Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of brake repair, hydraulics, and tire service procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• CDL preferred but no required
