Exciting opportunities are available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters eager to support students in an educational setting. Two contract positions are open near Arlington Heights, IL, both offering fulfilling roles working directly with school communities.
Position Details:
First Position:
- Location: Vernon Hills, IL
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm
- Duration: Immediate start through May 28, 2027
Second Position:
- Location: Grayslake, IL
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8am to 12pm
- Duration: Immediate start through May 20, 2027
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency and certification in sign language interpreting
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with ISBE Approval OR EIPA score of 3.0-3.4 with interim Illinois State Board of Education Approval
- Alternative credentials such as BEI, ISAS, CI/CT, or NIC with ISBE Approval are also acceptable
- Previous experience interpreting within school environments is highly valued
- Ability to adapt communication style to serve students across various grade levels
- Professionalism, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills
- Must be available to work onsite
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpreting services for students and educational staff
- Facilitate effective communication in classrooms and school activities
- Collaborate with teachers and support personnel to foster an inclusive environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Participate in meetings or training sessions as needed
