Payroll Specialist

Overview Orion Associates provides business management services such as payroll administration, training, human resources, and more, collectively supporting multiple companies including Meridian Services, Zenith Services, Morning Sun Financial Services, and Little Stars. All entities collaborate to deliver high‑quality professional services for employees while also supporting individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and their families. Schedule Monday – Friday during typical daytime business hours. Eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week after 90 days of employment. Wage $23.50 per hour, including full‑time benefits, PTO, and hybrid work options. Job Summary The Payroll Specialist ensures timely payroll processing, working closely with multiple departments to meet daily customer needs. Responsibilities Process new‑hire paperwork by verifying and entering data into the payroll system. Execute bi‑weekly or semi‑monthly payroll, including timesheet calculations, data entry, and manual check runs. Provide excellent customer service in accordance with company policies. Process child support, garnishment, and tax levy orders and payments. Ensure correct insurance and benefit deductions are withheld from employee payroll checks. Maintain employee paid time‑off plans. Store all payroll timesheets and related documents properly within the electronic data storage system. Communicate and collaborate across departments, demonstrating strong time‑management and organizational skills. Use spoken and written English effectively for communication. Required Qualifications Proficiency in spoken and written English. Successful clearance of a Department of Human Services background check. Successful clearance of a Motor Vehicle background check with an acceptable driving record as per Company Policy. Preferred Qualifications Degree in accounting or other finance‑related fields (preferred but not required). Experience with Microsoft Office. Experience with Great Plains and Mfiles is preferred.
