Onsite | Goodlettsville, TN (Dollar General Headquarters) Dollar General is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Media Strategy (Digital Growth & Media Innovation) to lead enterprise paid media strategy, drive innovation across emerging digital platforms, and help shape how millions of customers discover and engage with our brand. This highly strategic role serves as Dollar General's subject matter expert on the evolving digital ecosystem, including AI-powered search and discovery, creator and influencer ecosystems, audience targeting, attribution, performance measurement, and emerging media platforms. The successful candidate will partner across Marketing, Digital Commerce, DGMN, Analytics, and agency teams to identify growth opportunities, drive performance, and translate emerging trends into scalable business results. What We're Looking For We're looking for a strategic media leader who understands how paid and owned channels work together to drive business results. You should bring: Deep knowledge of paid media platforms, including search, social, programmatic, display, video, and emerging channels. Strong understanding of emerging consumer discovery behaviors, including AI-powered search, agentic assistants, social search, creator ecosystems, and retail media. Experience translating business objectives into integrated media strategies that drive measurable outcomes. Strong analytical and financial acumen, including: Attribution Incrementality Media Mix Modeling ROAS Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) A passion for innovation, experimentation, and staying ahead of industry trends. Experience influencing stakeholders and serving as a trusted advisor on media strategy, performance, and emerging opportunities. Ability to drive alignment, prioritization, and decision-making across agency partners and cross-functional teams. Working knowledge of privacy regulations impacting digital marketing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Analytics, or related field required. MBA preferred. 7-10 years of experience in digital marketing, paid media, performance marketing, or integrated media strategy. Proven expertise across enterprise-scale paid media programs and budgets. Experience managing and leading paid media agency partnerships. Experience working across Analytics, MarTech, CRM, Social, and Owned Channel teams. Experience developing measurement frameworks and evaluating multi-channel performance. What You'll Do Lead Enterprise Paid Media Strategy Lead enterprise paid media strategy across search, social, display, video, programmatic, retail media, and emerging digital platforms. Serve as the primary strategic lead for the paid media agency relationship. Provide direction, challenge assumptions, and ensure agency recommendations align with business objectives and performance goals. Identify optimization opportunities and recommend budget allocation shifts to maximize business impact. Drive alignment across internal stakeholders and external agency partners. Drive Digital Innovation & Consumer Discovery Serve as the enterprise expert on emerging digital marketing trends, evolving consumer discovery behaviors, and new platform opportunities. Monitor and evaluate advancements in: AI-powered search Agentic commerce and AI assistants Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Creator and influencer ecosystems Social search and emerging platforms Develop testing roadmaps and learning agendas focused on future consumer behavior and acquisition opportunities. Translate emerging technologies and industry trends into actionable business recommendations. Partner across Paid, Owned, CRM, Social, Influencer, Retail Media Network, Site, and App teams to create connected customer experiences. Collaborate with campaign managers and marketing partners to define channel roles and support broader campaign objectives. Evaluate the role of creators, influencers, and community-driven content in driving awareness, consideration, and conversion. Lead Performance Measurement & Reporting Establish and monitor KPIs aligned with business objectives. Deliver actionable insights and optimization recommendations to improve media performance. Own paid media reporting, including weekly dashboards, monthly business reviews, quarterly updates, and campaign recaps. Partner with Analytics and agency teams to ensure data consistency, reporting accuracy, and measurement integrity. Help stakeholders understand media performance, attribution changes, risks, opportunities, and business implications. Support MarTech & Data Quality Excellence Ensure media platforms are properly tagged and aligned with attribution and first-party data strategies. Partner with MarTech and Analytics teams to validate data flows and resolve discrepancies. Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and internal governance requirements.
