Internal Medicine; 4th Year Chief Resident

Ascension Wisconsin has an excellent opportunity for a 4th year Internal Medicine chief resident to join our team as we launch a new Internal Medicine Residency Program in July 2025. This position offers a mix of inpatient, outpatient, and faculty with time for research. Opportunity to teach and work directly with residents in the clinic setting to provide high-quality patient care and education.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical education and healthcare delivery within our community while contributing to a new and innovative residency program.

Key responsibilities include working with our ambulatory, hospitalist, and GME programs; helping develop and lead the ambulatory clinical training program for the Internal Medicine Residency; assisting in establishing the clinic's operations and structure to support the residency program; providing direct patient care, including managing your own patient panel as the residency program develops; collaborating with program leadership to ensure alignment with ACGME accreditation standards and educational objectives; participating in curriculum development and scholarly activities, contributing to the program's academic mission; mentoring and supporting residents in their professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning; and serving as a role model for residents by demonstrating exemplary clinical and interpersonal skills.

Skills and experience preferred include strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to build and manage complex programs; teaching experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong desire to teach and lead, as well as experienced clinicians who want to move into the teaching space are encouraged to apply; and commitment to excellence in patient care, resident education, and professional development.

Licensure / Certification / Registration: Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
