Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x12 Variable Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for surgical neonates
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, and manage PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
• Perform and assist with complex line changes involving multiple drips
• Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and NICU satellite campuses as needed; mileage reimbursed from home base location
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including weekend availability and working 2 of 3 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, including Eves)
• Chart accurately using Epic EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License in hand (or confirmed ETA for posting prior to start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience (Level 3 candidates with strong surgical NICU experience performing surgeries on newborns may be considered)
• BLS certification required
• Advanced NRP certification required
• Cardiac experience required
• Proficiency with advanced neonatal equipment and procedures including ventilators, specialty lines, and surgical care
• Must have own reliable transportation
• Must be flexible with variable day/night scheduling; schedule is published monthly and shift assignment may rotate each schedule period
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification
• Experience at a children's hospital or dedicated pediatric facility
• Willingness and comfort floating to PICU, CTICU, and Med Surg units within scope of practice
• First-time travelers with verified Level 4 NICU experience will be considered
