Transplant Nephrology fellowship opportunity available at Northwell Health

Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell's Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension in Long Island, NY is now interviewing for a 2026 position in our AST-certified transplant nephrology fellowship. This one-year advanced fellowship seeks to develop the next generation of transplant nephrologists. Training in transplant nephrology is primarily provided at the Northwell Health Transplant Institute. The fellow will develop expertise in managing kidney transplant patients at North Shore University Hospital located in Manhasset, NY, as well as in the outpatient setting, including a rotation at an affiliated lab for intensive training in immunogenetics. Responsibilities include transplant candidate selection, donor candidate selection, perioperative and longitudinal post-transplant management. Fellows will also participate in selecting candidates for multi-organ transplantation and managing these complex recipients. Training involves transplant nephropathology and research opportunities. By the end of training, the fellow will meet criteria for UNOS certification as a transplant nephrologist. Candidates for the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship should have completed U.S.-based internal medicine residency training and general nephrology fellowship, and demonstrate the highest level of performance and scientific potential. Candidates will be evaluated based on academic accomplishments, clinical training, enthusiasm, and dedication to transplant nephrology. Northwell Health is supportive of Visa candidates.
