Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• First Article Inspections (FAI): Perform thorough AS9102-compliant First Article Inspections on new CNC setups to validate dimensions, geometric tolerances, and surface finishes before approving mass production.

• Basic Product Inspection: Conduct receiving, in-process, and final dimensional checks on machined metal and plastic components using precision hand tools.

• Blueprint Reading & GD&T: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) callouts.

• Documentation & Digital Entry: Complete internal inspection logs, create FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports), and record non-conformance reports (NCRs) for non-compliant parts.

• Calibration & Equipment Use: Utilize and maintain standard inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, pin gauges, and optical comparators.

• Collaboration: Partner closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and production supervisors to troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies and process variations.

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
