Role Description The Retail Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based at VP Fitness in Providence, RI. This position is responsible for engaging members and visitors, promoting and selling fitness-related products and services, and providing a welcoming, supportive retail experience. Day-to-day tasks include greeting customers, answering questions about products, memberships, and training options, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge to make informed recommendations. The role also involves processing sales transactions, handling returns and exchanges, maintaining clean and organized retail displays, and restocking merchandise. The Retail Sales Representative collaborates with fitness staff to support promotional campaigns, communicates current offers, and helps ensure that every guest receives high-quality customer service aligned with the VP Fitness philosophy. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Retail Sales and Sales skills, including the ability to meet sales goals and promote fitness products and services. Candidates should possess solid Product Knowledge skills, with the capacity to learn and explain fitness, wellness, and membership offerings clearly. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to engage with diverse customers and work effectively with team members. Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach. Additional beneficial qualifications include previous experience in a retail or fitness environment, basic point-of-sale and cash handling skills, and strong organizational abilities. A genuine interest in health, fitness, and wellness, along with the ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light merchandising tasks.
