Team-based care, thoughtful caseloads, and strong infrastructure make this work meaningful—and sustainable over time.The RoleWe are hiring a full-time or part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our clinic opening in Long Beach, CA. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will deliver personalized, compassionate, high-quality care to individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI).What You'll DoProvide behavioral healthcare management to Amae Health patients; monitor and manage care through an array of treatment modalities as patients progress through phases of recoveryConduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments and provide ongoing medication management for patients with serious mental illnessDevelop individualized treatment plans focused on addressing specific psychosocial and medical needs that might limit recoveryProvide continuous, regular consultations as patients navigate recovery, both in person and occasionally virtuallyLiaise with patient care teams and collaborate closely with behavioral health providers to ensure an integrated, cohesive approach to careAddress medical and behavioral health needs to mitigate the negative impacts of social determinants of healthEducate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and recovery planningWhat You'll HaveMaster's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited programBoard certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)Active, unrestricted California NP license and prescriptive authority in good standingDEA registration (or ability to obtain)In possession of or willingness to obtain Clozapine REMS certification and Medicaid enrollment, if neededA minimum of 2 years working with SMI/outpatientFamiliarity with the medical, mental health, and social service systems in the greater Orange County/LA County areaHolistic perspective on health and understanding of patient rightsDemonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgroundsStrong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to adapt in a dynamic environmentComfort with technology and a passion for using technology to improve care deliveryWhat We're BuildingA national care delivery model for the highest-acuity patients in behavioral health.Precision medicine for SMI. Compensation includes a full time base salary of $155,000 - $185,000 (based on level & experience). Total compensation includes comprehensive medical/dental/vision, PTO, parental leave, and programs built around employee well-being. Note that part-time comp and benefits packages will vary depending on schedule.
