Technician I - Distributed Antenna Systems

Job Summary The Technician I - DAS will be responsible for a variety of field service functions. They will install antennas, repeaters, head‑end equipment and other DAS devices as well as learn how to complete sweep, PIM and fiber testing. Job Duties and Responsibilities Installing DAS wireless equipment using any combination of external and internal antennas, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable and other appropriate components to NEC standard at customer job sites. Commission and optimize a variety of DAS and signal booster equipment for public safety installations utilizing manufacturer’s procedures and field equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters. Conduct pre‑ and post‑install RF signal readings per fire code requirements utilizing spectrum analyzer and/or two‑way radios. Perform cable sweep testing (VSWR, RL, DTF, PIM) utilizing test equipment. Troubleshoot existing systems to identify failures or configuration issues and correct as possible. Terminate wall and ceiling mounted components. Complete sweep, PIM and fiber testing. Complete job‑related documentation and record keeping. Communicate and coordinate with customers and company regarding specific safety, local code and company installation requirements. Salary Minimum: USD $26.00 per hour. Maximum: USD $29.00 per hour. Qualifications Must be self‑motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must possess proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations. Must have proven skill level or the ability to learn to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Physical and Mental Requirements Must be able to work at heights, off a ladder, lift and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. Must be able to travel within 50% to 75% in and outside the branch territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory.
