Busy specialty practice is searching for a full time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in our Johns Creek location. Candidates must have knowledge of oral and IV antibiotics and be skilled in venipuncture and must be certified. Must also be punctual, detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task in a busy environment. Effective communication is extremely important in this position. Medical Specialty: Infectious Disease

Schedule: 8-hour shift

Work Location: In person

Responsibilities:

• Assists health care providers during examinations as directed. Duties may include, but are not limited to, performing dressing changes, taking vital signs, preparing and drawing up injectable medications, immunizations, venipuncture and preparing laboratory test requests and preparing lab specimen for pick-up per protocol.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed
• Prepares patients, rooms, and supplies for visits or examinations
• Schedules follow-up appointments, tests, procedures, and immunization with designated provider or facility.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment
• Triages patient correspondence received by phone, voicemail or patient portal in adherence to policy. Documents patient correspondence into EMR system and advises patient provider plan of action.
• Reconciles patient health history information at visit, updates any additional information pertinent to patient care and scans various documentation into EMR. Such documentation includes hospital documents, disability forms, laboratory test, medical clearances or any other correspondence as directed after obtaining provider signature.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant is a must.
• Venipuncture/Immunizations
• Medical terminology
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
