Overview Position: Buyer (Purchasing 2) — 6 month contract with a leading client in Pontiac, IL. Fully onsite (Mon-Fri, 40 hours). Location : Pontiac, IL (Peoria area) Hours : 7am-3pm CST Type : Contract Pay : $21.75-23.77/hour on W-2 Timeline : submissions by 9/17 Length : 6 months with a large possibility to extend or convert to full-time Screenings : no technical screening; full panel drug and background check once hired Benefits : optional benefits; potential for extension or conversion to full-time Responsibilities Review and potentially optimize suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors. Approve purchases of the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct quantities. Approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. Instruct staff on how to resolve problems related to undelivered goods. Instruct staff on methods of negotiation, renegotiation and administration of contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives. Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes. Qualifications & Skills Local to Pontiac, IL area Flexibility with working hours (7:00-15:00) Minimum GED or high school diploma (valid) Tech savvy; proficient with Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) MRP/ERP experience (e.g., SAP, NetSuite) or CRM experience Ideally 2 years of procurement experience Ideally 2-4 years of work experience Verbal and written communication, attention to detail, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information Knowledge of applicable purchasing laws and supply chain management Experience with computer applications (Microsoft Word and Excel) Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects Position’s Contributions to Work Group Surrounding team & key projects Purpose of this team Reason for the request Team & Day-to-Day Indirect purchasing analyst support for the Pontiac, IL facility Typical day/week includes tasks, interaction with the Category Buyer at the Pontiac Facility, and team structure Team structure: buyer and analyst at the facility; indirect team of 12 Seniority level Entry level Employment type Contract Job function Business Development and General Business Get notified about new Buyer jobs in Pontiac, IL. #J-18808-Ljbffr Swoon
