Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant $150 M Healthcare Company – Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Why Join Us? Competitive salary + discretionary annual bonus Exceptional benefits: Blue Cross PPO medical, dental & vision with low employee premiums; company-paid life, AD&D, and short-term disability; FSA for pre-tax medical expenses 401(k) with 4% company match Career growth: Join a high-growth company with a rapidly expanding finance team and strong opportunities for advancement Modern workplace: collaborative culture, state-of-the-art systems (including SAGE GL ), and a flexible hybrid schedule Core Responsibilities Perform timely and accurate reconciliations for: Bank accounts Accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) Prepaids and accrued expenses Fixed assets and operating leases Accrued interest and other sub-ledgers Prepare and record journal entries including: Cash receipts, A/R, prepaids, and operating leases Interest accruals, depreciation, and deferred financing Miscellaneous billing fees and quarterly entries Calculate and record accruals for: Payroll, PTO, training, and bad debt Support revenue recognition processes and ensure accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting Maintain and account for fixed assets: Ensure accurate tracking and depreciation Update CRM asset records Review financial entries and reports for accuracy and completeness Assist with onboarding and support for practice partners: Set up management fee structures Manage contracts and process adjustments or billings Support financial audits (financial, tax, 401(k)): Prepare schedules and respond to auditor inquiries Review and approve employee expense reports for policy compliance Identify and resolve accounting issues or discrepancies Cross-train on key departmental and cross-functional accounting processes Contribute to process improvements and special projects Utilize SAGE as the General Ledger system for all financial reporting and reconciliations What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 1–3 years of accounting experience (healthcare industry experience a plus) Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, GAAP , and revenue recognition principles Intermediate Excel skills (SUMIF, XLOOKUP, PivotTables required) Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills Strong communication skills – both written and verbal Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Familiarity with SAGE or similar ERP/GL systems is a plus CPA or CPA-track is a bonus, not required Benefits & Perks Blue Cross PPO health insurance, dental & vision – low employee premiums Company-paid life insurance, AD&D, and short-term disability Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare expenses 401(k) with 4% company match Discretionary annual bonus based on performance Generous paid time off and holidays Professional development support and career advancement potential Inclusive, team-oriented culture with regular company events #J-18808-Ljbffr
