We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Program Assistant I to join our Academic Affairs team. Job Responsibilities:

The Program Assistant I provides essential administrative and operational support to the Office of Academic Affairs. Working in coordination with the Assistant to the Provost, this position ensures the efficient daily operation of the office, manages administrative workflows, and serves as a welcoming, responsive primary point of contact and resource for faculty, staff, students, and the public.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• SDSU, State of South Dakota, and Board of Regents policies, procedures, and regulations
• Institutional protocols, administrative processes, and organizational structure
• Website design, maintenance, functionality, and content management principles
• Microsoft Office Suite and other office technology applications

Skill & Ability to:

• Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities while maintaining a high level of organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
• Design, maintain, and update website content and functionality
• Conduct research, analyze information, and respond effectively to complex inquiries and situations
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences through written and verbal communication
• Work independently and collaboratively while providing exceptional, people-centered customer service
• Interpret and respond to questions regarding academic policies, procedures, and related issues

Required License:

Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
