In this position, you will gain valuable knowledge of the tooling trade and, if successful and ready, transition into a Tool & Die Apprenticeship. **WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**(% of Time)Support Shop operations through organization, cleaning, machine maintenance and supply/materials coordination. (40%) Machining of tooling components and related machine shop work and training (30%) Assist in building or modifying of progressive punch press dies. (20%) Operate punch presses when necessary if skilled in this area (10%) **DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:* Required: High School Diploma or GED* Technical School Degree completed or started* Machine Shop experience in any capacity* 1 year desired experience setting-up or running progressive punch press dies* Blueprint Interpretation to interpret drawings dealing with the building and repairs of dies* Measuring Instruments: Read material gauges, measuring equipment, understand correct placement for new, damaged, or uncalibrated equipment* Productivity: Utilize time efficiency **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment.
