Medina ND – Location Manager
Dakotaland Feeds, LLC is a livestock feed manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Huron, South Dakota, that also operates four company owned retail locations. The company manufactures and distributes dry and liquid feeds, minerals, and co-products merchandised from surrounding ethanol plants. Dakotaland Feeds, LLC strives to achieve the most efficient methods to distribute livestock feed throughout geography served by its cooperative owners. The key to the company’s success is its superior customer service oriented sales and support staff who go the extra mile to serve the needs of its farmer-producers and dealer partners.
Position Summary
The Location Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Medina, ND location, including day-to-day operations, sales results, safety, and people leadership. This role requires strong customer focus, operational discipline, and hands-on leadership of employees.
The primary goals of this role include operating a safe, clean, and efficient location, driving year-over-year sales and revenue growth, and improving margins through effective operations and distribution practices. Equally critical is leading, developing, and engaging employees to create a high-performing team that delivers consistent results and exceptional customer service.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with employees, customers, and business partners are essential to success in this role.
Essential Job Functions
Operations & Financial Performance
- Manage day-to-day operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant practices
- Oversee P&L performance, expense control, and margin improvement initiatives
- Allocate plant resources to optimize productivity and profitability
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and workflows
- Provide direct leadership to location employees, including setting clear expectations, assigning work, and monitoring performance
- Create a positive, respectful, and accountable work environment that promotes teamwork, engagement, and pride in work
- Coach, train, and develop employees to build skills, improve performance, and support career growth
- Address performance issues in a timely, fair, and constructive manner, including coaching, feedback, and corrective action when necessary
- Support talent management activities, including onboarding, training, cross-training, and succession readiness
- Foster open communication by actively listening to employee feedback and addressing concerns appropriately
- Serve as a visible leader who models company values, ethical behavior, and commitment to safety
- Lead change initiatives at the location level, including process improvements, new products, or operational changes
- Represent the location professionally with internal leadership, cooperative owners, and external partners
- Meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations
- Support and drive sales through customer relationships, product promotion, and local marketing efforts
- Participate in or lead producer meetings, customer interactions, and sales initiatives
- Partner with internal sales and support teams to meet customer needs and grow business
Leadership
Sales & Customer Engagement
Experience-Education:
Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Animal Science/Ag Business, or related field with relevant experience. 5+ years’ experience in sales or other leadership positions. Experience in program management and administration.
