Hardware Test and Validation EngineerSanta Clara, CAAbout the roleGatik is hiring a Senior/Staff Vehicle Reliability Engineer. In this role you will develop vehicle and hardware tests and validation plans focusing on reliability and durability based upon the requirements provided. Additionally you will develop test profiles, run and manage these tests, collect and interpret the data and submit test reports summarizing the results. You will work closely with other internal and external teams to ensure that your test-plans and tests meet the needs of the project goals and provide valuable feedback to the development process. You will run tests internally as well as working with external vendors for the testing and validation of our cutting edge autonomy components and systems. This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Santa Clara, CA office.What you'll doCreate reliability test and validation plans for AV hardware components and subsystemLead and organize DFMEA efforts within the Hardware and Vehicle groupsInstrument & Collect data to support component testing and validation plan creationDesign custom test profiles as needed utilizing field measurements and requirementsPerform tests internally and manage outsourced testing activities as neededInterpret test data and generate reports to provide feedback to the cross-functional teamsDesign, assemble, operate and maintain test equipment and infrastructureLead test campaigns for the components or subsystemsSupport the creation of reliability and performance benchmarks for custom componentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support testable requirement creationWhat we're looking forBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field5+ years of engineering testing & validation experience in the hardware space with a strong focus on designing & managing validation plansSeveral years of hands-on experience in the automotive, trucking, aerospace, robotics, or automation industryExperience defining and managing mechanical and environmental tests for components that are integrated into vehicles or robotsExperience with vehicle communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Automotive ethernet)Experience with setting up and collecting data with data acquisition systems for testing purposesExperience in selection & usage of equipment such as as accelerometers, strain gauges, thermocouples, etcExperience with processing data collected with DAQ (CANbus/LIN/Automotive Ethernet)Familiarity using measured data to create HALT tests for accelerated testingExperience with CAD toolsBonus QualificationsExperience with sensor technology such as camera, ultrasound, lidar, and radarFamiliarity to automate workflows (macros or data analysis)Familiarity with MatLab and/or PythonSalary Range - $160,000-$220,000More about GatikFounded in 2017 by experts in autonomous vehicle technology, Gatik has rapidly expanded its presence to Mountain View, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arkansas, and Toronto.
