Summary: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsible for repairs and maintenance on large construction equipment.

Pay: $30-$35 an hour, based on experience.

We have opportunities for both Day Shift and Night Shift: * The typical DAY shift is Monday-Friday (Saturdays as needed) 6am- 6pm * The typical NIGHT shift is Monday-Friday, 6pm-6am** Minimal travel is associated with this role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and repair transmissions, engines, differentials, electrical and hydraulic components associated with heavy construction equipment in a field environment.
• Utilize a laptop computer for information and diagnostic purposes for the safe assembly and disassembly of components.
• Write and complete service reports.
• Participate in company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred.
• 5+ years' experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Use hand tools, air tools, test equipment, powered shop tools, and overhead crane.
• Operation of a variety of types of equipment
• Diagnosis and repair of diesel engines
• Maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment electrical systems
• Hydraulic troubleshooting
• Use of hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Crane knowledge a plus
• Ability to properly document work completed
• Desire to take on new challenges
