Tax Expert - Expert Center (Southeast)

Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round TurboTax Local Service Experts in one of our new TurboTax locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax‑Local Service Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.” This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax location in the United States. Working hours are primarily between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week, with hours subject to change during peak demand. What You’ll Do: Provide Tax Expertise – give hands‑on tax advice and complete preparation services for TurboTax clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments); facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax‑planning advice; use government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in clear everyday language. Be a Proactive Community Ambassador – embody a “community ambassador” and “business owner” mindset to actively build and grow a new local customer base for TurboTax; identify and pursue prospects through targeted outreach, grass‑roots marketing initiatives, referral networks, and community partnerships; serve as the local face of TurboTax, converting new prospects into loyal, long‑term clients; organize and lead local events such as financial literacy workshops, community pop‑ups, and networking gatherings with the support of TurboTax marketing tools and resources. Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem – act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and connecting them with Intuit solutions best positioned to move them forward; identify opportunities to introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma; ensure every client leaves with a clearer path and the full weight of Intuit’s resources behind them for year‑round support. Build Relationships – connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns, and build the long‑term trust that turns a one‑time transaction into a loyal, multi‑year relationship. Deliver a Best‑in‑Class Customer Experience – create an exceptional customer experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals (e.g., saving for retirement, college funds, weddings, or vacations); interact with customers both in‑person and through Intuit’s state‑of‑the‑art video communication tools; address client inquiries while helping them overcome tax‑related challenges. Key Qualifications EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws preferred. Have an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) as required by law to file taxes. Minimum of 3 years of paid experience filing 30 or more federal and state individual 1040 tax returns per tax season using professional tax preparation software; familiarity with Circular 230. Willing to upskill into additional service types or more complex work areas (e.g., bookkeeping, payroll, business tax advisory) with training provided by Intuit. Must be comfortable working onsite at a TurboTax office location, primarily between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week; operating hours are subject to change and may scale up during peak demand. Must be willing and able to complete all required training and development as determined by the business, including compliance training, proficiency‑based up‑skilling, cross‑training of other products or offerings, and professional development; training requirements are subject to change. Must be willing to wear Intuit‑provided uniforms and to use your name and picture for advertising on Google. Interest in building a local and online social presence as a TurboTax Expert, creating accessible tax‑related content and resources for your community in accordance with Intuit’s policies. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus. Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing. Additional Requirements Must reside within the United States. Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
