Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: School Nurse Duration: Full Time Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Relevant experience in school nursing preferred License: Valid nursing license Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification Must-Have: Strong communication and collaboration skills Description: A qualified and student-centered Registered Nurse is sought to serve as a School Nurse. The RN will support the health, safety, and academic success of all students. Responsibilities include providing leadership for school health services and delivering nursing care. The RN will manage student health needs and collaborate with school staff and families. Key duties include providing comprehensive school nursing services, including assessment and referral. Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and maintain accurate documentation. Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) and Emergency Action Plans. Assess and manage students with chronic health conditions, disabilities, and acute illness or injury. Serve as the primary health resource for the school community. Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate emergency response as needed. Supervise and provide clinical guidance to LPNs, CNAs, and other health staff as required. Maintain confidential student health records in compliance with regulations and district policies. Support infection prevention and control practices throughout the school environment. Effectively communicate with families, healthcare providers, and community agencies regarding student health needs. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required trainings. Assist with health oversight of school activities, transportation, athletics, and field trips as required. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope of professional nursing practice.
