Nurse Registered (PRN)

Job Duties 40% Serve as a lead nurse to provide supervision of skilled nursing services in the Emergency Department. Assign staff based on qualifications and patient needs. Complete and document initial assessments using a five-level triage system. Revise assessments as needed. Review and verify patient orders. Perform reassessments according to established guidelines. Communicate and coordinate patient care with supervisory staff, oncoming nurses, and other disciplines. Maintain confidentiality and patient safety. 40% Identify potential and actual patient problems. Identify conflicts between patient and staff and intervene appropriately. Develop and implement teaching plans tailored to assessed needs. Coordinate with physicians and disciplines to develop care plans and facilitate referrals. 10% Maintain CEU’s for licensure. Participate in staff development, unit meetings, and quality improvement activities. Assume delegated Charge Nurse duties. Conduct orientation and performance evaluations of subordinate staff. Serve as House Supervisor when designated; investigate and address problems, complaints, and policy violations. Adjust staffing as needed. 10% Attend education in-services, mandatory training, and annual reviews as required. Perform any other duties as assigned. Position Specific Details The incumbent will be required to work in various departments throughout Lallie Kemp Medical Center, including night shift. The work schedule is determined by the Department Manager. This position is for a Nurse Registered PRN on the night shift, with a minimum of one shift per four-week period. Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license, or a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact. Current state RN licensure (LA), valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association. Premium pay compensation granted for these certifications. Completion of a five-day General Orientation. Compensation and Benefits Base pay of $30.00 per hour plus shift differential pay: $3.00 per hour for Shift 2; $4.60 per hour for Shift 3, holidays, and weekends. #J-18808-Ljbffr
