Infusion RN

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Round Rock location. This is a full-time Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities include: Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central lines catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Level 1 Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. 0‑3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements) 3‑5 years nursing experience. Oncology certification preferred. Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements) Five years nursing experience. Working Conditions The work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
