This position operates on an 8-hour days schedule, Monday through Friday, with flexible times as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions and provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment for patients with physical functioning disorders. This position functions under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist in compliance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer various rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments as necessary.
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
• Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.
• Work with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings is mandatory.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license is required at the time of application.
• New graduates may be considered if they have completed Level II clinical experiences.
