Clinical Laboratory Manager, Ambulatory Pathology

Lead and support two ambulatory laboratory sites, ensuring smooth, efficient daily operations and strong team performance Build, coach, and develop a high-performing laboratory team Serve as the primary operational leader and escalation point for staffing, workflow, and service delivery needs Partner with system laboratory leadership and clinical teams to align priorities, standardize processes, and improve service access and turnaround times Oversee quality and compliance activities, including QC, maintenance, temperature logs, and required laboratory documentation Ensure readiness and performance in CLIA/CAP-regulated environments Support implementation, validation, and onboarding of new tests, instruments, and workflows Drive continuous improvement initiatives Oversee staffing and scheduling across both sites Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required ASCP certification (MLS/MT) required Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory generalist experience Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a CLIA-regulated laboratory Strong background in clinical chemistry and hematology Demonstrated success leading teams in a hospital or clinical laboratory environment Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Beaker experience strongly preferred Experience with workflow or operational system use preferred Experience with test validation, implementation, and process improvement Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, coach, and build trust across teams Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in leading clinical laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams while managing staffing, workflow, and service delivery effectively.
