Opportunity Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatal Hospitalist to become part of a distinguished, integrated neonatology program located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our diverse team comprises neonatologists, neonatal hospitalists, and advanced practice clinicians who collaborate across various locations.

Practice Details

As a member of our integrated program, physicians will deliver care at two clinical locations, each presenting a unique scope of practice within a cooperative framework:

California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco, CA)

A regional referral center featuring a 35-bed Level III NICU with access to advanced subspecialty services.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Providing neonatal inpatient care, including participation in high-risk deliveries.

• Night coverage supported by an in-house neonatal hospitalist team.

• Active management of well-baby services.

• Engagement in neonatal transport and coordination of high-risk perinatal cases.

• Collaboration with pediatric subspecialists through programs such as the Small Baby Unit, neurocritical care, and neonatal surgery (in partnership with Stanford Children's Health).

Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, CA)

A community hospital with approximately 1,500 annual deliveries , supported by dedicated neonatal hospitalists providing 24/7 coverage.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• In-house neonatal care, covering newborn and special care nursery services.

• Management of a Level II Special Care Nursery (6 beds) equipped with advanced monitoring capabilities.

• Care for infants experiencing respiratory distress, jaundice, feeding difficulties, and premature infants (≥34 weeks gestation).

• Active well-baby service and delivery room coverage.

• Coordination with neonatology, transport teams, and pediatric subspecialists.

• Focus on family-centered care, including education and support for parents.

Collaborative Approach

Our neonatal hospitalists collaborate closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, and labor and delivery teams across both locations to ensure smooth transitions of care and optimal outcomes. This integrated model fosters continuity, clinical diversity, and a strong team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics or Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.

• Active California medical license (or eligibility) by the start date.
