Position Details

This position is located at a hospital in Cleveland, OH, offering both night and day shifts on a rotating basis.

• Shift Schedule:
  
  
  • Night: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Day: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Description

The role involves providing specialized care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), focusing on patients aged up to 25 years. Candidates should possess extensive experience in pediatric care, including but not limited to epilepsy monitoring and specialized care for various conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  
  • A minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in the pediatric specialty is required prior to travel assignments.
  • 18 months of recent pediatric nursing experience is required; travel experience may be accepted.
• Licensure:
  
  
  • Must hold a valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license without restrictions.
• Certifications:
  
  
  • Current certification in American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS is mandatory.
  • NIHSS certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-focused care in the PICU setting.
• Execute specialized nursing procedures and protocols.
• Effectively monitor and assess patient conditions and respond accordingly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Compliance and Training

Travelers must complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate training during orientation. Successful completion of both tests is required.

All nurses are required to participate in the Annual Hands-On Competency program after one year of continuous service.

Additional Information

Travelers are expected to work at least every other holiday and may have variable shifts based on the hospital's operational needs. Compliance with facility policies regarding nicotine use and drug screenings may apply.
