Tool Room AttendantThe Tool Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining and issuing tools and equipment to workers. This position is also responsible for maintaining documentation on tool locations, issuance of tools and tool room inventory. The Tool Room Attendant will be responsible for supplying tools and consumables to all shop employees.Key Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain records of issued tools and monitor tool room inventoryReceive new tools into the organization and schedule preventive maintenance for equipmentOrder all necessary tools and equipment required for shop personnelCommunicate with suppliers to obtain price quotesSubmit new orders to management for approvalRequest purchase orders (POs) from the Purchasing DepartmentMaintain all tools and consumables in a well-organized mannerMaintain and file documentation required for reporting purposesCollaborate effectively with multiple team members and departments simultaneouslyMaintain good communication with shop leads and supervisorsOther duties as assigned by TASJob SkillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records of tool locations, scheduled repairs, and maintenance activitiesBasic computer skills with the ability to maintain inventory and recordkeeping systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including the ability to work with spreadsheets and maintain recordsStrong written and verbal English communication skillsAbility to conduct online research and source tools, equipment, and materials at competitive pricesEducation & TrainingHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum Requirements2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentWork performed in a non-climate-controlled shop environmentExposed to any number of elements such as hot and cold temperatures, but with none present to the extent of being disagreeableAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout the workday, up to 10 hours per day (with a lunch break in between), up to 6 days per weekRegularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach (forward and overhead), and maintain balance.Occasional sitting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be requiredFrequent bending at the waist and twisting movements are requiredPhysical effort includes frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, including lifting from floor to shoulder height and from waist to shoulder heightOccasional carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds over short distances (up to 30 feet).Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and coordination tasks is requiredRequires normal vision, hand-eye coordination, and absence of color blindnessHearing ability is required to safely and effectively perform job duties, with the use of earplugs recommendedClimbing ladders may be required frequently; climbing stairs or steps may occur occasionally.Proper PPE which includes steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and TAS provided hard hat is required in the manufacturing facilityJoin a team driven to excel in all that we do!
