Lead Java Developer

We are seeking a Lead Full Stack Java Developer to support a large-scale modernization initiative transforming legacy mainframe functionality into a modern, web-based platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within an Agile environment, focused on full-stack development, system integration, architecture design, and AI-driven development practices. Key Responsibilities Lead modernization of legacy systems into scalable web-based applications Design and develop backend services using Java (8+), Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate Develop and consume RESTful and SOAP web services Integrate external systems using web services and messaging platforms (JMS, Kafka, RabbitMQ) Support data migration efforts across DB2, Oracle, and PostgreSQL Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures Implement CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle Conduct unit, integration, and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito, Selenium) Ensure secure coding practices and performance optimization AI-Driven Development (Highly Desired) Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle, including: Code generation and transformation (e.g., COBOL to Java) Automated unit test creation Security vulnerability scanning Intelligent refactoring and documentation AI-assisted IDE productivity tools Required Qualifications 10+ years of backend development (Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot) 4+ years of database development (DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL; SQL & stored procedures) 4+ years integrating external systems via REST/SOAP and messaging platforms 3+ years of DevOps/CI/CD experience Highly Desired Experience with React, Angular, or similar UI frameworks Performance tuning and messaging systems experience Ideal Candidate A senior-level, hands-on technical leader who: Thrives in modernization initiatives Embraces AI-enhanced development practices Communicates effectively across cross-functional teams About the Role accel bi corporation is seeking a skilled Lead Full Stack Java Developer to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina .
