Major Duties

• Provides expertise, direction, and oversight on specialized Planning policies, processes, and procedures across the Planning Division of the Logistics Policy and Programs organization.
• Provides oversight and executes all policies, procedures, guidance, and control of the functional aspects of the Planning process.
• Responsible for the review, analysis, and development of Planning policy, procedures, and business rules for DLA, evaluating and recommending disposition of requests for waivers to statutory requirements and deviations.
• Key participant in activities related to initiation, development, and recommendation of legislation pertaining to the Planning process area.
• Develops innovative strategies and procedures to overcome process problems and evaluate, maintain, and improve Planning performance.
• Responds to industry and congressional concerns, making recommendations regarding specialized Planning matters requiring resolution at the senior Agency, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), or Congressional levels.
• Directs the work of the branch, as well as teams of Planning specialists located at field activities to review and evaluate process strategies and ensure compliance with agency needs.

Qualification Summary

To qualify for a Supervisory Supply Systems Analyst, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Providing direction and expertise in Supply Planning, policies, and procedures for the guidance and control of an organization. Demonstrated knowledge of material Planning process and tools driving readiness and efficiency objectives. Reviewing and evaluating short and long-range plans involving Planning processes and strategy. Participating in the audit readiness end-to-end processes within a process management area, to include manual and system processes and their associated internal controls. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
